NOL Monthly Pass
A NOL travel pass replaces per trip fares with one payment. A 30 day pass covering two zones costs AED 230 on a Silver card, and all zones AED 350. That beats paying per trip only above a certain number of journeys, which is what the calculator below works out for your own pattern.

How to use the nol monthly pass
- Set your zones and pass lengthPasses come in 7, 30, 90 and 365 day lengths, for one zone, two zones or all zones.
- Say how often you travelTrips a day and days a week. Most commuters are 2 trips a day, 5 days a week.
- Read the verdictYou get the cost either way, the saving, and the number of trips where a pass starts to win.

Every NOL pass price
Silver and Blue cards share one price list, Gold Class costs exactly double, and students, seniors and Social Affairs beneficiaries pay half. A week long pass for all zones is AED 110, a month AED 350, and a year AED 2,670, which works out cheaper per day the longer you commit.
One catch matters: an anonymous Silver or Gold card can only load the 7 day pass. The 30, 90 and 365 day passes need a registered or Blue Personal card, so registering a card for AED 30 is the first step for most commuters. Passes load at any Dubai Metro ticket office, from Union in Deira to Mall of the Emirates in Al Barsha, and apply across metro, tram and bus alike.
| Pass | 1 zone | 2 zones | All zones |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 days | AED 50 | AED 80 | AED 110 |
| 30 days | AED 140 | AED 230 | AED 350 |
| 90 days | AED 330 | AED 550 | AED 830 |
| 365 days | AED 1,060 | AED 1,770 | AED 2,670 |
Silver and Blue prices. Gold Class is double, concessions are half. Based on RTA nol Fares and service 648.
When a pass beats paying per trip
The maths is simple once you have a fare. A 2 zone trip costs AED 5, so a AED 230 monthly pass pays for itself at 46 trips, which is 23 return journeys, or roughly 11 working days there and back. Below that, pay per trip, which the fare calculator prices for any route. Above it, the pass wins and everything after is free travel.
All zone passes need more use to justify. At AED 7.50 for a long trip, the AED 350 pass needs 47 trips a month. A five day a week commuter crossing the city hits that easily; someone working from home three days a week does not. A day pass may suit occasional heavy days better.

What this page does not do
- Anonymous cards can only load a 7 day pass; longer passes need a registered or Blue card.
- Travel outside your pass zones is charged at the normal fare on top.
- Passes cover metro, tram and city buses, not intercity or seasonal routes.

NOL Monthly Pass questions
How much is a monthly NOL pass?
On a Silver or Blue card: AED 140 for one zone, AED 230 for two zones and AED 350 for all zones. Gold Class is double and student or senior rates are half.
Is a NOL monthly pass worth it?
At 2 trips a day, 5 days a week across two zones you would spend about AED 5 per trip, so a pass at AED 230 starts saving money at 46 trips a month. The calculator above works this out for your own pattern.
Can I put a monthly pass on any NOL card?
No. Anonymous Silver and Gold cards take the 7 day pass only. For 30, 90 or 365 days the card must be registered, which costs AED 30, or be a Blue Personal card.
What happens if I travel outside my pass zones?
The trip is charged as a normal fare from your balance, so keep some credit on the card even with a pass.
