How to use the dubai metro zone map
- Type a station name or codeThe answer appears straight away, with the line and any interchange.
- Or filter by zonePick a zone to see every station inside it and the areas it covers.
- Check the boundary stationsTwo stations sit on a zone edge and are marked as such.

The four zones with metro stations
Zone 5 covers Deira, Dubai International Airport and Al Qusais, and holds both airport stations plus most of the Green Line's northern half. Zone 6 covers Bur Dubai, Zabeel, Downtown and Business Bay, including Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Zone 2 runs from Al Safa down to Jebel Ali and contains Mall of the Emirates, the Marina, JLT and every one of the eleven tram stops. Zone 1 holds the far south west: Jebel Ali Industrial, Dubai Investment Park and Expo City.
Zones 3, 4 and 7 exist on the fare map and are used by buses, but no metro or tram station falls inside them. That is why this page lists four zones rather than seven. The zones guide explains how the fare counts them and the calculator applies it.

Stations that sit on a zone boundary
Danube and Jumeirah Golf Estates are drawn on the line between zones 1 and 2 on the official map. When one of them is the start or end of your trip, the fare is worked out from whichever of its two zones costs you less, which matches how the gates behave.
The creek marks the boundary between zones 5 and 6. Union sits on the Deira side in Zone 5 and BurJuman on the Bur Dubai side in Zone 6, the two interchange stations, so a trip between them crosses a zone even though they are one stop apart on the Red Line.

What this page does not do
- Zones are read from the shading on RTA's rail network map published December 2025; RTA does not publish a station to zone table.
- Bus only zones 3, 4 and 7 are not shown because no rail station falls inside them.
- Boundary station handling follows the cheaper zone rule, which we have not been able to confirm in writing with RTA.
Estimates only, not official RTA confirmation. Check the gate display or rta.ae before you rely on a figure. Read the disclaimer.
